Dear Arlene Meraux Elementary Families,

As we close another incredible school year at the Hive, I want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for the love, support, trust, and partnership you have shown our school community throughout the year. It has truly been an honor to serve as your principal and to watch our students learn, grow, and thrive each day.

This year was filled with so many accomplishments, celebrations, challenges overcome, and memories made. From classroom learning and student performances to after-school events, field trips, competitions, and all the little moments in between, our students continued to amaze us with their resilience, kindness, and determination. Watching them grow academically and personally has been one of the greatest joys for our entire staff.

I am especially proud of the tremendous progress our students made this year. Through hard work from our teachers, support staff, families, and students themselves, we continued to see growth across the board in literacy, math, and overall student achievement. Our students worked incredibly hard on programs like Dibels, iReady, and LEAP, and they showed what can happen when a school community works together toward a common goal. The growth we saw this year is something our entire Hive can celebrate.

Of course, what makes Meraux truly special goes far beyond test scores. It is the culture of love, support, and family that fills our hallways each day. Our teachers and staff consistently go above and beyond for children, and our families continuously show up to support our school in countless ways. Whether it was attending school events, helping with homework, cheering from the sidelines, volunteering your time, or simply encouraging your child every day, your involvement makes all the difference.

To our students: thank you for bringing joy, energy, laughter, and excitement into our building every single day. You are the heart of this school, and we are so proud of all you accomplished this year. Keep reading, exploring, learning, and enjoying your summer—you have earned it!

To our families: thank you for trusting us with your children. There is no greater responsibility, and we never take that privilege for granted. Your support means more than words can express.

As summer begins, I hope your days are filled with rest, fun, family time, and plenty of happy memories. We are already excited about all the wonderful things ahead for next school year, and we cannot wait to welcome everyone back to the Hive soon.
